Jana supports the CSCP in the fields of sustainable agriculture and nutrition, sustainable public procurement and innovative prosumer concepts in fashion retail.

In the Action Alliance of Sustainable Bananas, which is hosted by the CSCP, Jana helps to bring together the different stakeholders of the banana industry to commit and work together to improve social, ecological and economic conditions throughout the value chain.

Previously, Jana has been part of the SWITCH-Asia Network Facility – an EU Commission-funded programme promoting Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) in Asia – where she supported Asian small and medium enterprises to market their sustainably manufactured products.

Before joining the CSCP team in 2016, which she was familiar with through her work as a student assistant in 2014, Jana has been working abroad in the Philippines and Costa Rica, where she gained expertise in productive forest management, nutrition diversification and indigenous people’s rights. During her studies, she supported a regional waterworks in environmental management of drinking water.

Besides her work for the CSCP, Jana supports the German Development Institute driving fair and sustainable public procurement in Latin America.

Jana holds a master’s degree in International Environmental Sciences from the University of Cologne and a bachelor’s degree in Ecological Impact Assessment from the University of Koblenz.

In her private time, besides cycling and cooking, Jana organizes educational events and festivals with Slow Food Youth and supports the Food First Action Network (FIAN) as a multiplier on the human right to food.

Jana is a German national.
