Join Our Conference “Sustainable Digitalisation 2.0: Covid-19 and the EU Green Deal as Paradigm Shifts” on 14 October 2021!

We live in unique times: The ongoing pandemic has brought us to a new normal, digitalisation is in full swing and there is an urgent need for action for more sustainability in all areas of life. Companies that manage to see these challenges not as a burden but as an opportunity for innovation are able to create competitive advantages and be successful. Harnessing the sustainability potential associated with their digitalisation activities enables such companies to achieve economic goals while bringing about positive socio-ecological impacts.

The European reconstruction plan NextGenerationEU, which focuses on digitalisation and climate protection, and the European Green Deal offer guidance and tangible support in this regard. While pioneering companies are already succeeding in translating sustainability requirements into competitive advantages in their core business by using digital means, linking sustainability and digitalisation activities is still a challenge for the majority of companies.

This joint conference of the Mittelstand 4.0-Kompetenzzentrum eStandards and CSR.digital, Centre for Digital Responsibility in NRW will focus on these key aspects:

  • What are the potential synergies and conflicting points between digitalisation processes and sustainability targets in a company?
  • Which approaches and solutions have proven successful in everyday business and considering competitive conditions?

Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, Minister for Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalisation and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia will open the conference which will be attended by representatives of the EU Commission, the business sector, and field experts. The conference focuses on sharing insights from business to business. We look forward to discussing the challenges and learnings from the sustainable-digital transformation with top management representatives from award winning companies such as:

  • Hugo Sebastian Trappmann, CEO Blechwarenfabrik Limburg GmbH
  • Wilhelm Mauß, CEO Lorenz GmbH & Co.KG
  • Samuel Waldeck, CEO SHIFT GmbH
