Harnessing the Power of Collective Intelligence: Communities and Technologies

The Web has increasingly become a place where ideas and opinions of many people can be shared, expanded and equally endorsed or criticised by others. However, the quality of online dialogue is hampered by a series of factors (e.g. arbitrary interpretations diffused as facts, trolls), as well as forms of online dialogue that aren’t based on a real and reciprocal interaction among users.

The final report of the Catalyst project presents the results and lessons learnt during the two year project duration on facilitating online debate and deliberation, thus improving their quality and effectiveness.
