Behaviour change interventions for more sustainable food consumption. A review of three REWE International cases studies.

This VALUMICS project report analyses and summarises the results of three behavioural intervention case studies conducted by REWE International AG. It aims at improving an understanding of opportunities and challenges toward more sustainable food consumption at the retail level. The case studies focus on three aspects: the retailer’s fruit and vegetable certification and supplier social standards, the introduction of recyclable glass milk bottles, and the greening of the store designs. In addition, the report discusses and outlines seven retailer lessons that can support the shift towards more sustainable food consumption.
