Wissenschaftsjahr is Coming to Your City – Plan Your Visit at Our Popup Dialogue-Centers

What does tomorrow’s working world look like? Will we partner with robots to do the computationally expensive work so we can follow our creative instincts? Will we connect with colleagues from all over the world in virtual offices while never leaving the comfort of our homes? What new jobs will be created when data and digitalisation-driven business models become the norm? We want to discuss these and many questions with you!

The Wissenschaftsjahr 2018 carries the title “The Future of Work: Insights – Popup Dialogue-Centers on the Working World of Tomorrow”. Together with our consortium partners, we are designing an interactive exhibition that tackles all the questions you (and we) might have about the working world of tomorrow. We have assembled state of the art reseach on the future of work, along with examples of the newest technology and expert opinions. Through many examples,we are looking at promising developments, but we will also be asking difficult questions. Will my job still be relevant with the further advancement of digitalisation? What will happen to our interpersonal relationships – will an anonymous robot take care of me when I am old, for example? We want to hear your hopes and worries, comments and questions. Join us!

The traveling exhibition will zoom into three different fields of work. You can sit on a desk in the year 2035 (if they still exist then) and see what desk work will look like. Or you can experience the technological development of the coming two decades that will shape care work. Of course, we cannot forget that there are jobs that will only arise as digitalisation progresses – what would an ethics expert for artificial intelligence do without the artificial intelligence?

For this popup exhibition we are looking to rent vacant storefronts in Wuppertal, Kiel, Potsdam and Dresden during the fall of 2018. In order to do so we would like to ask your help. If you are from one of those cities and you know of such a vacant store, contact us at kontakt@durchblick-popup.de. The exhibition will stay for 6 to 10 days in each city and we are looking forward to contributing to a more lively city centre through all our popup has to offer.
