Position as a Project Manager (m/f/d)

The Collaborating Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP) is offering a position as a Project Manager at its office in Wuppertal, Germany.

Starting Date: between February and March 2022 (please indicate your availability)

Working time: 80%

Duration:  1 year, with the possibility of extension

You
Are you a fluent English and German speaker interested in working to support mainstreaming sustainability in an international environment? Do you like to connect different cultures and always see opportunities, even when challenges arise frequently?

Your tasks will be:

  • Independent leadership of projects and fulfilment of their technical, organisational, formal and financial requirements
  • Independent project management as well as adequate project-related arrangement with the administration
  • Continuous, independent acquisition of externally funded projects
  • Do research work for example in the field of sustainable products, sustainable value chains, circular economy, the European Green Deal and related strategies and action plans
  • Publication of project results and further communication towards the target group
  • Coordination of internal and external project groups and project partners as well as external stakeholders
  • Leading of project teams

You have:

  • Completed tertiary degree in a sustainability, social science, economics or business-related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant work experience; international experience will be viewed favourably
  • Preferably experience in sustainability topics in general, like circular economy, sustainable value chains, stakeholder processes, sustainable procurement, sustainability product and portfolio assessments
  • Experience in project management, independent project work, presenting and workshop facilitation
  • Working experience and/or interest in working with sectors like food, retail, textile and chemical
  • Working knowledge on the European political agenda is a plus, though not mandatory
  • Team spirit and a can-do attitude
  • Willingness to take responsibilities, availability to travel
  • Proficiency in MS-Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Language:

As English is the working language of the CSCP, fluency in written and spoken English is necessary. As the applicant might also be involved in German speaking projects, fluency in German is a plus.

Renumeration:

We apply the TV-L Salary system. The position corresponds to TV-L 13.
