Action Town – Research and Action for SCP

This project looks into how CSOs can provide new insights for research in sustainable consump-tion and production. It focuses on concrete actions by creating partnerships between CSOs and research organisations. The objectives of the project are:

  • Identifying gaps (1) in the knowledge of CSO’s on how to shape consumption and pro-duction patterns in a sustainable way, and (2) in the research agenda for sustainable consumption and production policy strategies, assessment tools and indicators;
  • Providing new insights for increasing efficiency of policy strategies, assessment tools and indicators for sustainable consumption and production through small-scale explora-tory actions;
  • Creating partnerships between CSOs and research organisations to increase involve-ment of CSOs in research.

At least three CSOs from different European countries will be selected as national focal points for accumulating and disseminating knowledge on SCP. Selected CSOs will be tasked to partici-pate in an orientation seminar, a feasibility survey and an assessment seminar, a support work-shop and exploratory actions, a ‘Researchers Meet CSOs’ event, and dissemination activities and development of a strategy paper and position papers.
