Domain ending with sustainable meaning

Will it soon be scp-centre.ECO? If it’s for the Community Campaign for .ECO the ending will be preserved for truly sustainably committed organizations. What will it be like, the eco-net within the net?

 

Ideas of sustainability are infiltrating our societies – ecological ways of travelling, sustainable economy and environmental policy programs. And many of these ideas erupt from the internet or are transmitted through it. Time for the internet to get its own ecological branch: .eco!

 

Community Campaign for .ECO is the name of the initiative the CSCP currently joined as a promoter. The campaign, supported by many other important partners like WWF and Greenpeace, wants to ensure the integrity, transparency and accessibility of Eco information for all. By saving the .eco ending on the web for organizations that are truly committed to sustainability, the campaign also wants to bring transparency to customers.

 

The Dot Eco Community Council has just applied to ICANN, the internet administration, for the ending. In order to demonstrate that this application has the support of the Environmental Community, every organization of it is asked to support the campaign by joining the pool of over 50 partners on doteco.org, where you can also find further information.
