CSCP joins the “SMARTer2030 Action Coalition” @GeSIConnect#Smarter2030 During COP 22, on November 17th, the Government of Morocco and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) announced the launch of the worldwide “SMARTer2030 Action Coalition”. A long term collaborator on GeSI, CSCP joined the Coalition as one of the founding partners. We are very honoured to be one of the founding partners of the “SMARTer2030 Action Coalition”. Building on the SMARTer2030 report, the Action Coalition is taking concrete steps to implement the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is doing this at the ICT industry level, business sector level, public policy level, and through public awareness, education, and mobilisation. The Action Coalition will bring together the key people needed to make this vision a reality: ICT industry and business leaders, policymakers, and civil society. The GeSI Chairman Luis Neves said: “We are glad and excited by this new development. Since its creation over a decade ago, GeSI has been working to raise awareness of the ICT potential for enabling the transition to a low-carbon economy while improving people’s quality of life. We are proud to see such recognition for our work, and we look forward to this vital opportunity to make the digital revolution a reality for everyone.” Other founding partners are the Government of Morocco, BT, Connected Devices Alliance, Ericsson, IBM, IEA, ITU, Microsoft, Philips Lighting, Schneider Electric, Telia Company, Verizon, and WBCSD. CSCP will bring its expertise in facilitating cross-sectoral dialogue and collaborative innovation between the ICT sector and other industries to the Action Coalition. Through such processes, diverse industries can develop joint innovative and dynamic business solutions for sustainable living at a global scale. Furthermore, we understand that low carbon digital solutions need to work for the consumer; we will ensure that the user perspective is included in the innovation process to achieve successful implementation and results.
