17th - 18th June, 2011
This year, Eine Welt Netz NRW will host it’s state of NRW conference under the heading “Vision 2030”. In addition to contextual impulses and information for work within Eine Welt, the focus this year will be on long-term perspectives: What has Eine Welt NRW been working on in the past 20 years? What have been the results of Eine Welt’s efforts?
What were the milestones and which mistakes were we able to learn from? However, we also want to direct our attention towards the future: What will North-South relations look like in 2030? Who will the new actors be? And which alliances will be important? How will population growth and poverty reduction develop? Which factors will determine global justice? What will be the challenges facing Eine Welt groups and the Eine Welt network in NRW?
The UNEP/Wuppertal Institute Collaborating Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP) as well as the socio-catholic Franz Hitze Haus Academy are the cooperating partners for this conference.
The keynote speakers and discussion partners bring many years of experience of work within Eine Welt. Denis Goldberg, who has been an active opponent to racial segregation in South Africa for many years, as well as Eveline Herfkens, the founder of the UN-campaign for the Millennium Development Goals and former Dutch Minister of Development Cooperation will be present. Furthermore Klaus Milke from Germanwatch and Rahime Diallo, previously Migration and Development coordinator in NRW who has recently switched to the African Diaspora Policy Centre in Den Haag will attend.
