An Expert Conference on the Marrakech Process – Creating Solutions for Sustainable Consumption and Production” on 22 and 23 November
The event takes place on November 22nd and 23rd, 2006 in Wuppertal, Germany. It will be organised by the UNEP/Wuppertal Institute Collaborating Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP), in co-operation with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and in partnership with the Club of Rome and the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP)..
The conference aims to review the current activities of Marrakech Task Forces (MTFs) hosted by various governments, to facilitate exchange of experiences, and to identify potential demonstration projects for each Task Force. Inputs and contributions are expected from co-ordinators of the MTFs, with special involvement of participants from developing countries. Possible contribution of research to the activities of the MTFs will also be explored. Additionally, this event shall serve as the official international opening of the CSCP.
The CSCP team will draft a background paper for the conference, including an overview of the current status of the Marrakech Process and the work of the MTFs. The gaps remaining in the current activities will be analysed to identify future Task Force initiatives as well as the areas where a cross-cutting approach through international collaboration is needed.
More information on the conference will be published on this webpage soon. If you would like to receive future updates, please e-mail to Gabriele Eigen (gabriele.eigen@scp-centre.org) .
Participation in the conference is by invitation only.
